Books for Veggies

Luggage brimming with ink’s fragrance, we trek along the way,
Country winds whisper soft, where grass spreads green all day.
We pitch our tents to greet the rising sun’s warm glow,
Cooking smoke curls up, calling friends to gather slow.
Suddenly, farmer’s voices drift from the neighboring tent,
Baskets full of fresh veggies, still damp with dew’s intent.
With a smile, we trade our idle books for their harvest fair,
Ink marks linger sweet, mingling with vegetable scent in the air.
Once, these pages held a thousand tales, deep and wide,
Today, they turn into rural warmth, side by side.
Charity needs no grand stage, no bounded space to thrive,
A book, a veggie—simple joys that make hearts come alive.
Charcoal flames burn red, grilling skewers’ savory cheer,
Green peppers, eggplants compete, each releasing flavor clear.
Raise our cups, savor nature’s taste, pure and bright,
Laughter rides the wind, filling the hillside with delight.
Camping is not just for leisure, for fun alone we seek,
Deeper meaning hides within this journey, soft and sleek.
Books pass knowledge on, veggies add warmth to our feast,
Happiness takes such a form, gentle and at ease.
Returning home, we still recall that exchange, so dear,
Where starlight and firelight shone, each in their own clear sphere.
