Snow-Skin Mooncakes

On jade-like tables, gentle hands bustle with care,
Snowy skins slowly wrap the fragrance of osmanthus in the air.
Mid-Autumn’s skillful craft shapes the taste of reunion sweet,
Ancient ways passed anew, through years that softly beat.
Glutinous rice ground to 浆,condensing into snow’s pure hue,
Lotus paste mixed as filling, holding fragrance fresh and true.
Molds stamp out round moon shapes, full and bright to see,
Fingers shape moonlit verses, where tradition finds its key.
Bamboo sieves gently cradle silver cakes, tender and light,
Cupboards with gauze store their cool, jade-like delight.
Classic charm melts into this flavor, rich and fine,
Heritage unbroken, in the ordinary moments that shine.
Tonight we gaze together at the moon hanging high,
Savoring snow-skin mooncakes, feelings never to die.
A bite of sweetness holds old dreams, soft and clear,
A thousand years of custom, its melody lingers dear.
